backup
Backup Maker provides an option for
creating backups across more than one data carrier. These
are called split backups. This topic describes the
options for split backups.
Option: Split type
Select the split type you wish to use.
Make sure though that you use a type that is actually
suitable for your particular data carrier (medium) in
order to ensure an optimal use of the storage
capacity.
You can use other split types by
selecting the list item "Other split type".
A new window will enable you to enter the maximum
file size of the split parts.
Note: Split backup
Split backups consist of several
parts. The first part in each case has the file
format ".zip"; subsequent parts use a
sequential numbering of the type
".zip.zXY". In order to restore a split
backup, always open the ".zip" file.
Option:
Split always
If this option is enabled, BackUp
Maker always splits your backup into several parts,
regardless of the target location.
Option:
Split onto CD/DVD
Select this option if you want BackUp
Maker to split your backup into several parts only
when you choose a CD/DVD burner as your target
location. In this case, when you create a backup to
hard disk, there will be no splitting.
